More photos of ex EBR PVH no. 21 were taken on July 29 2001 than have been taken in the rest of its life. A big crowd followed this loco until the sun went down.
Near Lonah, between Penguin and Ulverstone
Forth River bridge. Note that the centre pier has been constructed so that the bridge can
have an opening pivot, but the origins of this is unclear, and I don't believe it was ever used.
No effort was needed to climb the Don Hill, the steepest grade on the Western line.
While waiting at the old platform at Devonport for the cement train to clear
Tony Coen does some oiling of the motion gear.
The scene in the cab. Good to see the Brasso on hand.
Track warrant ready.
The EBR kept plenty of parts on hand and the wagon being hauled by the PVH
contains many spares for this unique locomotive.
The cement shuttle with 2123 is just moving through the unloading bay as the PVH
leaves town.
