Conara is the junction for the Fingal line, important for its coal from the Cornwall mine at St. Marys and wood traffic.

Train 46 with 2113 on the Fingal line west of Avoca. Loading on this train was 3 wagons of logs, and 28 wagons of coal.

X30

X30 is on display at the one time terminus of the Fingal line, St Marys. This was the scene in June 1988, X30 had been driven to this site before the line was lifted back as far as Fingal.

X30

28 Jan 2001. X30 is still at St Marys, but has been moved slightly west. The engine is not as good as it looks, the cab has been vandalised.

X 30 has now been moved to the Derwent Valley Railway at New Norfolk, where it is sure to be restored.
