|Back to THE LAST TRAIN

Monday 17 March 2003

Tasrail said that service on this line was "suspended" just after this train ran, even though there were 19 wagons still at Black River and Wiltshire.

On its way west and approaching Hellyer at the Yanns road crossing, the train has just passed the 235km marker.

Crossing the Mawbanna road. This is another site where new crossing signals were installed when trains started running again in 1999. Note the remains of the loading ramp, still in situ at the old siding location.

A new view of the Black River bridge. The construction of a new road bridge further downstream and the removal of the old one has opened up a new camera angle. A pity there will not be any trains running when the demolition is finished.
