Tasrail say that service on this line has been "suspended". The line is in poor shape, and trains have been only one or two per week. The trains shown on this page are probably the last. Hopefully the section Burnie to Wynyard will still be available for railcar use.

2006/2004 passing the old platform face at Rocky Cape, 231k, on their way to Wiltshire.
Approaching Wiltshire yard limit board at the eastern side of the Black River bridge, 2006 and 2004 have run light engine from Burnie to pick up all the wagons in the area.
The DQs have not been to this part of the line as on the three previous occassions that they have hauled train 68/69, their run has terminated at the Black River siding. Here they are approaching Wiltshire, a further 2km west.
Pivot siding at Wiltshire. This siding is on the western end of Wiltshire yard. Three wagons are waiting to be picked up, two were sent here on 29th August 2002, and the third one arrived here just 15 days ago, on 12th March.
Removing the wagons from Pivot.
Closing the gate on 81 years of rail service to the far north-west?
The wagons were then pushed east to the Black River siding, passing the GV guards van body that was once used as part of a weighbridge at the western end of the siding.
After running around, the engines prepare to couple to the load. In the background, another load of logs is leaving by truck.
Train 69, headed by 2004 is pulling out of the siding.
At 1406, train 69 passes over the Black River bridge. Will it be the last?
1423. At Mawbanna, and about to hit a nice kink in the track.
1504. One of the best train viewing spots on the far north-west line, the train at 230km viewed from the Montumana road. For another train at this site click HERE.
1544. The last train 2004, 2006, 16 loaded wagons, 3 empties, approaches Myalla, 27 March 2003
1636. West Wynyard, 200.1k, approaching that awful kink in the line, which was passed successfully, but not without a lot of protest from the wheel flanges.
This was the kink on Monday 17 March 2003
This is Myalla now, Station building completely removed.
