The picturesque Derwent Valley line is used by Tasrail/ Pacific National as far as Boyer, where
the "paper train" begins its 6 day a week journey to Burnie. The line beyond
Boyer was gradually being reopened by the Derwent Valley Railway, with excursion passenger train services
running to Westerway and National Park. However PN shut the line down in 2005 due to safety concerns, it may reopen in the future when the Tas. Govt takes control. .
