The ABT WILDERNESS RAILWAY revisited. (Note that this page was originally uploaded in July 2002, and reflects the situation at that time)
The ABT railway has been in the news lately, and now the section Rinadeena to Strahan will not be opened until the Rail Safety Regulator
approves the safety case. There has been plenty of political points scoring, culminating in a visit to Dubbil Barril by pollies and the media. The Regulator stopped the running of some special test trains, and the rack equipped diesel V13 was sent to Kingston for repair, leaving no alternative but to use Hi-rail vehiles for the tour. We have a few pictures here of test trains etcetera, supplied by Grant Hyland.
