Two engines were sent up from Launceston to haul the new D class locos back to town after they arrived at Bell Bay 15 June 2001. Leading this group was DC4588, followed by DQ 2012. This train had a very mixed set of locos.., from New Zealand, Queensland and Western Australia!
19 November 2001. DC4588 on the cement train This seemed to be an ideal task for this loco but it is not now used on this service.
